In-house mobile app
If your operator has enabled it, the in-house mobile app (still a trial) puts your extension on your mobile phone, Android or iPhone: it rings even with the screen off and is set up from a QR code. Your admin shows it on your user page (Phones tab, Apps part, see Users and extensions); scan it with the app, once. Right after, the app asks for access to the microphone (for calls) and to notifications (so that a call rings while the app is closed); nothing is asked before the QR code.
The app speaks your account’s language (French or English, see My account); before the QR code, the phone’s. Dates, times and numbers follow your company’s country, even when a call wakes the closed app.
If the app shows Access revoked (“This device no longer has access. Ask for a new QR code (user page, Phones tab) and scan it.”), its access was withdrawn or is no longer valid: it does not retry. Ask your admin for a new QR code, then tap Scan a new QR code. A mere network problem does not show this message.
The screen
- At the top, the header: the screen title and, on the right, the extension’s status dot, followed by its name (its number if it has none): green, the phone is ready to call and receive; orange, connecting; red, the connection failed; grey, offline. A moon before the dot means Do not disturb is on. Tapping the dot opens the Status screen.
- Below the header, the tabs: Recents, Contacts, Keypad and Favourites. The number of unheard voicemail messages shows on Recents.
The tabs
- Recents: the extension’s call log, grouped by day, with All, Incoming, Outgoing, Missed and Voicemail (only if your extension has a voicemail box). Under each name, an arrow gives the call’s direction (↙ incoming, ↗ outgoing; green if it was answered, red if missed, grey for an outgoing call with no answer), followed by the outcome (Received, Outgoing, Missed, Missed · voicemail if the caller left a message, No answer) and the time. The green phone icon calls back; tapping the rest of the line opens the call details (see below). Play plays a message and marks it as heard.
- Contacts: your favourites first, then your company’s extensions, its shared directory and your personal contacts; search covers name, company and number. + adds a contact; a long press (or ⋯) edits or deletes those you can change; the star makes it a favourite. Below, apart, the Phone contacts (see below).
- Keypad: dial the number, then the green button with the phone icon calls; the
contact’s name shows under the number. A French number shows in pairs as you type
(
06 12 34 56 78,+33 6 12 34 56 78). - Favourites: the contacts starred in Contacts, in the order you added them; a tap calls. The star removes them.
An incoming call shows full screen: the green button answers, the red button declines. During a call: Mute, Speaker, Keypad (keys for a voice menu), Hold, and the red button hangs up.
Call details
Tapping a line in Recents (or a message in Voicemail) opens Call details; the arrow at the top left, or the phone’s back button, closes it. It shows:
- the name and the number, and where the name comes from: Company directory, Internal extension, Personal contact or Phone contacts. For an unknown number: Unknown number, with Mobile, France, Landline, France or International (your company’s country; in the United States and Canada, Landline or mobile);
- the buttons Call; Edit (the number goes to the keypad, to change it before calling); Copy (the number goes to the phone’s clipboard); Favourite for a contact (a full star: it is in your favourites; tap again to remove it) or Add for an unknown number (the Contacts add form opens with the number, with Share with the whole company if your company opens its directory);
- Voicemail, if the caller left a message: play (which marks it as heard), transcription when there is one, and Delete the message (after confirmation);
- History with this number: your calls with this number, newest first, with the date, the time and the duration of answered calls.
For a hidden number, only the call you tapped shows, with no buttons: it can neither be called back nor saved.
Calls and the phone (Android)
By default, the app keeps its calls separate, like WhatsApp or Teams: they do not mix with the SIM card’s calls, appear neither in Android’s call log nor in the Phone app, and are found in the Recents tab. An incoming call rings with the phone’s ringtone and shows as a call notification (Answer in green, Decline in red), full screen on the lock screen, even with the app closed or the phone asleep. Bluetooth and car kits work, and a SIM call during an app call (or the other way round) puts the first one on hold.
If the Status screen shows Incoming calls in red, Android prevents the call from showing: the app’s notifications are turned off, or the full-screen call screen is not allowed (Android 14 and later). The button opens the right phone setting.
Integrate with the phone (Status screen, off by default) blends the app into the phone instead: its calls show with Android’s call screen and in its call log, marked “via” your operator’s name, and Android’s Phone app can call through your extension (it then offers the SIM card or your operator; the number goes out as dialled, put in international format). When you turn it on, the phone asks for permission to make and manage calls, then to turn on your operator’s calling account in Android’s Calling accounts. If you cancel, the app stays separate: you can turn that account on later in Android’s Phone app (Settings, Calls, Calling accounts; the path varies by phone) or with the Open calling accounts button on the Status screen. Turning the setting off goes back to separate mode, without restarting the app; the choice is kept on the phone. It cannot be changed during a call.
Phone contacts
The first time you open the Contacts tab, the app asks for access to the phone’s contacts (never before). If you allow it, they show in the Phone contacts section, read-only (edit them in the phone’s Contacts app), and their names also show in Recents, on the Keypad and when a call comes in. If you refuse, the section does not appear: the Show the phone’s contacts line lets you allow it later (through the phone’s settings if you refused for good).
These contacts stay on your phone: the app reads them on the device and never sends them to the phone system or to anyone. They cannot become favourites, which are saved with your account.
Status
The Status screen (the dot in the header; the arrow or the phone’s back button closes it) shows the connection state and, if it failed, why (credentials refused, server unreachable) with Reconnect, then Do not disturb (calls go to voicemail without ringing), Forward all calls to another number, Integrate with the phone (see above), the Ringtone (the phone’s own), Diagnostics (Share the log, with no password or token, to send to your support) and Sign out this phone (a new QR code will be needed).
